Ideas for Research Paper-

I have yet to narrow down my research paper to one idea. My argument paper was on females in comedy. My thesis for the argument was:

In general society regards women as humorless; I believe this is an unjust statement of the female sex, and that the material is the true reason why women are unable to be viewed as funny.

After putting much thought into it, and seeing what kind of material is out there, I think I want to focus on the medias role in changing the lack of female comedians. Nowadays there are a number of female comedians and I think it is largely due to the new opportunities that the media and television have provided for them. With so many hours to fill it has given females the chance they needed to prove their humor. I am not quite sure how I want to word this new thesis. I have a few in mind but I am still trying to refine them.

Comedy is not a field that has always been welcoming to females. Even though it is still dominated by males, television and media has been able to break down some of the old opinions of the woman's lack of comedic ability, and bring to stage many talented females who are thriving in the twenty-first century.
